In ​this third volume of the _Korean Cultural Heritage Series_, we focus on traditional and contemporary performing of arts in Korea, theri cultural roots, development and manifestation in modern society. The Korean performing arts are rich and varied but little about them is known in the West. Influences from China have been strong, especially in the areas of court and Confucian ritual dance and music, but Koreans developed their own dynamic music and dance, sometimes building on borrowed foundations, other times creating new.
