Naruto ​csapata már most olyan kalandokon van túl, amelyek magasabb szintű nindzsákat is megizzasztottak volna, de az igazi próbatétel csak most kezdődik: a Nagy Csúnin-választó Vizsga! Mindannyian örömmel jelentkeztek, csakhogy itt már nem babra megy a játék: ez a vizsga a szó szoros értelmében halálosan nehéz! Ha nem a válogatottan embert próbáló feladatok végeznek a felkészületlen újonccal, akkor könnyen lehet, hogy valamely másik vizsgázó!

Minden ​nindzsa életében elérkezik a pillanat, amikor szembesül az igazsággal, hogy az edzés, a technikák végső célja az ellenfél megsemmisítése. Naruto ezt Szaszuke halálának pillanatában érti meg, és a düh felébreszti a benne szunnyadó kilencfarkú rókadémon erejét. Ha le is tudja győzni Hakut, vajon képes lesz-e megtenni az utolsó lépést a sinobik útján, és megölni egy ellenfelet?

Naruto ​és csapata először találkozott igazán félelmes erejű nindzsával - a hátborzongató Orocsimaru, akitől láthatóan komolyan félnek Avarrejtek legjobbjai is, valamiért Szaszukét nézte ki magának. És ha a Naruto kiütése és Szaszuke megbélyegzése nem lett volna elég, még ügynökeit, a hangrejteki csapatot is rájuk küldte. Ki lehet ez a rettegett nindzsa, és mit forgat a fejében?!

Avarrejtek ​nindzsafalu árvája, és egyben első számú csínytevője arról álmodik, hogy egyszer szert tesz majd a Hokage címre, ami a törzs legerősebb ninzsáját illeti. Ehhez persze át kéne jutni az alapfokú vizsgákon, amire az állandóan kópéságokon ügyködő Narutónak vajmi kevés esélye van. A születését övező tragédia miatt a falu lakói is kiközösítik, de a hiperaktív nindzsatanoncot nem olyan fából faragták, hogy egykönnyen feladja, amit egyszer a fejébe vett!

Kisimoto Maszasi - Naruto ​16.
Homokrejtek ​ostroma véget ér, a támadókat visszaverik a hősiesen védekező sinobik. Mindét oldal hatalmas árat fizet - a falu elveszíti a Hokagét, aki viszont egykori tanítványa, az áruló Orocsimaru erejét zárja le. Naruto legyűri a homokrejteki démont, de a csata felkelti egy rejtélyes banda figyelmét - akik mind S-osztályos, különösen veszélyes nindzsák!

Tite Kubo - Bleach ​8.
Ichigo ​knows that to retrieve Rukia from the Soul Society, he'll have to enter that world himself. Sorachi Hideaki - Gin ​Tama 1.
Samurai ​Gintoki Sakata works in a freelancer business, Odd Jobs Gin, after Edo was conquered by aliens named Amanto in order to pay the monthly rent from where he lives. In his days, Gintoki is joined by Shinpachi Shimura, a teenager son of a samurai who wants to learn about him, and Kagura, an alien girl who went to Earth to earn money for her poor family, but is unable to return home and threatens Gintoki to let her live with him. While Kagura and Shinpachi live with Gintoki, they meet a terrorist named Kotaro Katsura who participated alongside Gintoki in the war between samurais and aliens, and lost. Odd Jobs is forced to help Katsura escape from the Shinsengumi, a police force working for the Bakufu, after they accidentally perform a terrorist attack. The volume ends with a one-shot from Sorachi named "Dandelion", which explores the work of a pair of exorcists.

Eiichiro Oda - One ​Piece 18.
The ​Straw Hats at long last reach Alabasta! But their stay is cut short when Luffy attracts too much attention from the Navy. They're not the only ones interested in Luffy--someone from his past has been waiting for him too! Meanwhile, the Baroque Works' agents are summoned together when their leader, the dastardly Mr. Zero, aka Sir Crocodile, learns that Luffy is still alive and orders his immediate extermination!

But, in a where-the-rubber-meets-the-road kind of way, Ichigo wasn't expecting his assault on the Soul Society to be a piece of cake either. After all, that'd just be boring.
