On Saturday nights, the Pier Ballroom in Swansea is the place to be. As the girls and boys gather, we are introduced to Lily, an evacuee unclaimed by her family at the end of the war; to Judy, taught independence by her war widow mother; for Katie, the product of a marriage between a drunken, violent father and a coward, beaten mother; and for the spoiled, willful Helen. It is an evening that fuels jealousies and sows the seeds for friendships, confidences, and romance.
Kishori Aird - DNA Demystified 1.
Don't be fooled! If you're under the impression that the only way to access the genetic code is through science and technology, you're mistaken. Did you know that DNA possesses a vibratory, electromagnetic field that is sensitive to human intention? Did you know that the study of the human genome covers only 3% of all DNA and that scientists refer to the rest as superfluous or non-coded? Did you know that DNA contains not 2 but 13 strands and that these can be reconnected and activated? Did you know that, much like a computer, DNA possesses built-in programs, and that these can be modified? In her new book, DNA DEMYSTIFIED, A Practical Guide To Reprogramming The 13 Helixes At Zero Point, Kishori Aird unveils previously unpublished information on DNA and how it can be reprogrammed. More specifically, she explains how to install new programs or codes directly into the genes, and provides lists of instructions, referred to as "modification protocols." According to Kishori, functioning with all 13 DNA strands allows you to transcend a dualistic vision of reality in order to live "at zero point," that is, somewhere between the light and the shadow. At "zero point ," one enjoys a non-linear perspective, developing compassion, understanding, abundance, humility, and self-esteem.
Merilyn Tunneshende - Twilight Language of the Nagual
From the Back Cover SHAMANISM / TOLTEC STUDIES “In the best of the shamanic tradition--through dramatic storytelling of her own life experience--Merilyn Tunneshende imparts the essence of the timeless art of Dreaming, the powerful healing modality of the future. As an added bonus she supplies us with specific exercises to assist us in our own discovery of this powerful path to healing.” --Jose Stevens, Ph.D., author of Secrets of Shamanism and The Power Path Twilight Language of the Nagual is a shamanic and spiritual account that illuminates the author’s experiences under the tutelage of don Juan Matus, the Toltec shaman who mentored Carlos Castaneda, and the sorceress doña Celestina. The author journeys from a mountaintop peyote pilgrimage of the Huichol people of western Mexico to the home of Tibetan monks in Mexico City and the hut of a Mazatec mushroom shaman in a remote Oaxacan village. She learns the Twilight Language of Dreaming, an avenue for understanding the energetic gateways of human existence. Don Juan Matus defines the language of this Dream Power and doña Celestina tutors on sex, reproduction, and male-female affairs in relation to the state of the world. Twilight Language enables communication between beings of the upper and lower realms. The author describes how it is possible for our individual and collective consciousness to be transported to higher levels. At the conclusion of each chapter she offers detailed exercises for experiences in extra-lucid Dreaming. She presents several case studies from her own Dream work as well, which demonstrate applications of Dreaming techniques in the “real” world. Twilight Language of the Nagual is both a navigational aid to other realms revealed through Dreams and an exploration of the energy techniques of Dream Power for healing and enlightenment. MERILYN TUNNESHENDE has studied shamanism and spirituality since the 1970s. She teaches throughout the United States and abroad on the powers of nagual shamanism, emphasizing Dreaming, empowerment, love, energetic healing, and beyond-death states.
Kenneth Meadows - Shamanic Spirit
A guide to self-realization and reattunement with nature that utilizes the ancient shamanic wisdom of cultures from around the world • Focuses on the development of grounded spirituality based on the connections indigenous traditions have with nature • Contains 33 hands-on experiential exercises and 50 shamanic meditations • Includes a 60-minute CD of shamanic drumming to induce meditative states of deeper awareness • Written by the author of Earth Medicine and Shamanic Experience Those of us who live in the so-called “advanced” modern world have been educated to use our minds and encouraged to satisfy our physical needs. But in so doing, we have become isolated from the very essence of our existence as individuals--our own spirit. In Shamanic Spirit Kenneth Meadows introduces Shamanics, his spiritual science of living, which recognizes the primacy of the spirit and acknowledges that spirit is inherent in all living beings and life forms. Shamanics is a practical way of becoming aware of our multi-dimensional reality and using that awareness to cultivate and refine the spirit within. Using the symbolic structure of the Medicine Wheel--which helps us establish a sense of direction, extend perception, and examine relationships--Meadows presents 33 hands-on experiential exercises that help readers discover the truth about themselves. His approach also draws upon and integrates universal shamanic concepts from such regions as the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, India, China, and Polynesia to show readers how to release their dormant potentials, generate creativity, and meet the challenges of their lives with confidence and self-assurance.

David Rosen - Joel Weishaus - The Healing Spirit of Haiku
The Healing Spirit of Haiku begins with a brief history of haiku, although it is not a book about haiku. Rather, it is a haibun of the psyche, an exchange of poetry and prose between two old friends who set out to accomplish a soulful journey together. “I think a book should be intelligent, well-crafted, and beautiful. A book is not a message to grasp but an object to love. I love this new book of haiku and images and will be happy to be in its presence, touch it, and feast on it for many years. It is a perfect example of John Keats’ idea of soul-making: trans¬forming the everyday into beautiful and probing reflection. It is what Wallace Stevens called a mirror with a voice.’” - Thomas Moore, author of Care of the Soul and Dark Nights of the Soul “This deeply human dialogue of haiku and commentary follows in the footsteps of Issa and Busón. Rosen and Weishaus express their psychological wisdom with lightness, humor, and a uniquely personal touch. A treasure!” - Claire Douglas, author of Translate this Darkness and The Woman in the Mirror “An altogether pleasurable book indeed!” - Robert Creeley, author of Life and Death “This book of texts and encounters, of poetic moments and prose commen¬taries, of interpersonal responses, has the feeling of a work that is both very ancient and utterly contemporary. It enacts what it’s about—a spiritual journey, a creative healing.” - Edward Hirsch, author of Lay Back the Darkness and Wild Gratitude “To have one’s soul evoked by reading, that in itself can be a sacred act. To me, since forever, el libro es sancta: a book is blessed—for inside, there can be water glistening to moisten the parched throat, and a thunder of wings that can carry us to a homeplace where exists essential remembrance of ‘what truly matters.’ Haiku, to me, is the quintessential story form, one that like a twilight is meant to be walked through with care, so as to see and feel the clarity of things that cannot be seen from a dusky afar. This work you hold in your hands offers that twilight walk, and more.” - Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Ph.D., author of Women Who Run with the Wolves and The Gift of Story

Brad Blanton - Radical Honesty
The first edition of Radical Honesty became a nationwide best seller in 1995 because it was not a kinder, gentler self-help book. It was a shocker! In it, Dr. Brad Blanton, a psychotherapist and expert on stress management, explored the myths, superstitions and lies by which we all live. And this newly revised edition is even worse! Blanton shows us how stress comes not from the environment, but from the self-built jail of the mind. What keeps us in our self-built jails is lying. "We all lie like hell," Dr. Blanton says. "It wears us out...it is the major source of all human stress. It kills us." Not telling our friends, lovers, spouses, or bosses about what we do, feel, or think keeps us locked in that mind jail. The way out is to get good at telling the truth, and Dr. Blanton provides the tools we can use to escape from that jail of the mind. This book is the cake with the file in it. In Radical Honesty, Dr. Blanton coaches us on how to have lives that work, how to have relationships that are alive and passionate, and how to create intimacy where none exists. As we have been taught by the philosophical and spiritual sources of our culture for thousands of years, from Plato to Nietzsche, from the Bible to Emerson, the truth shall set you free.
Richard De Mille - Castaneda's Journey
How flies the Crow from Ixtlan to Huautla? Why does Death stand at a Warrior’s left hand? Who brings Truth but cannot be trusted? When did the Little Smoke come to Popayan? One way or another, don Juan lives! But are the books fact or fiction? Richard de Mille saw we could not appreciate Carlos Castaneda as a dissenting anthropologist, an original philosopher, a psychic visionary, a literary genius, or a practical sorcerer without settling that question—so he settles it here once and for all. Don Juan and Carlos emerge as modern myths, impervious to the puny assaults of sophisticated parodists, flying much too high to be brought to earth by proofs of fictioneering, destined to join the ranks of memorable teachers and tricksters, metamorphs and allegorists. De Mille builds the first don Juan theory to fit the facts. Castaneda's unorthodox UCLA career is explained. His hidden learning is uncovered. His private life and public character are analyzed. The many voices of sorcerer and apprentice are sorted out. Don Juan is praised for bringing indispensable knowledge, but the shortcomings of his Way are not ignored. Arguing both for Castaneda and against him, this startling study obeys don Juan's dialectical maxim: "Only if one pits two views against each other can one weasel between them to arrive at the real world." "My word! You have done your homework well" —R. Gordon Wasson, author of Soma: Divine Mushroom of Immortality.
Steven Harrison - Doing Nothing
Doing Nothing is for those who have found themselves religiously following practices that have not fundamentally changed their lives: new therapies, ancient meditations, exotic religions, or old-time religion. It encourages them to find the truths of life through the simple act of stopping the search. What do you do after you've tried everything to find enlightenment or happiness? "Do nothing," writes Steven Harrison. "As it turns out, nothing is a surprisingly active place, but it is here that we discover who and what we are."
Susan J. Wright - The Chakras in Shamanic Practice
How to work with the chakra centers to heal unresolved psychic wounds • Reveals how psychic injuries become lodged within the energy body • Links one major developmental stage with each major chakra • Provides a detailed guide to healing and clearing the tensions each chakra holds The chakra system identifies eight centers in the psycho-anatomy of humans, each one associated with a different part of the physical or energy body. Susan J. Wright, a practicing shaman and Gestalt psychotherapist, uses her own life journey to show that each chakra also is linked to a different stage of emotional and spiritual development. In The Chakras in Shamanic Practice, she identifies eight key developmental stages of life, from birth to old age/death. Each of these life stages has various developmental challenges and potential traumatic events that will likely occur and affect the health and well-being of the individual. Wright explains that life traumas experienced in particular developmental stages become lodged within the energy body as they cling to their corresponding chakra. By identifying and working with the chakra involved, a doorway can be opened to a world of transformative images, allowing powerful shamanic techniques to heal these psychic wounds. Providing both physical exercises and guided meditations that utilize the techniques of soul retrieval, working with power animals, and transcending trauma, Wright offers practitioners a way to gather and nurture the fragmented parts of their energy body and lead themselves to physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Robert E. Ryan - The Strong Eye of Shamanism
An exploration of shamanism and the archetypal symbolism that sits at the foundation of all human life • Not just an academic work. Helps the reader experience the actual mindset of the shaman • Presents a cohesive view of the recurrent patterns of symbolism and visionary experience that underlie all religion The human psyche contains archetypal patterns largely lost to contemporary society but which shamans have employed for over 30,000 years to gain access to the spiritual world. Shamanic symbols both affect and reflect these durative patterns that exist, with uncanny similarity, in civilizations separated by expanses of time and distance. The Strong Eye of Shamanism draws together the many facets of the art of shamanism, presenting a cohesive view of the recurrent patterns of symbolism and visionary experience that underlie its practice. The "strong eye" of the title refers to the archetypal symbolism that sits at the foundation of all human life--whether in Paleolithic caves or today's temples. The author asserts that society has become separated from the power of those symbols that lead us into deeper understanding of our spirituality. In today's world of splintered psyches, a world in which people are in search of their souls, shamanism survives as an age-old technology of soul recovery, a living Rosetta stone that reminds us of the shared foundation that exists beneath even the most radically different perspectives. Through its study of shamanism, archetypal psychology, and symbolism, The Strong Eye of Shamanism encourages individuals--and society--to look inward and remember that the deepest forms of awareness begin with the knowledge that the answers reside within us.
Norman Friedman - Bridging Science and Spirit
For centuries, humankind has tried to navigate between scientific and spiritual conceptions of reality often without much success. In the resultant confusion scientists, philosophers and theologians have pondered and argued—yet the separation remains. Norman Friedman correlates the quantum physics of David Bohm with the Perennial Philosophy described by Aldous Huxley and the spiritual insights of the entity known as Seth, as channeled by Jane Roberts, to show how a single reality emerges from seemingly contradictory perspectives—a brilliant synthesis. Some of the many endorsements of Norman Friedman's books: “I think Bridging Science and Spirit is one of the most insightful, comprehensive and brilliant expressions of knowledge. I shall certainly use it as a reference guide. Many abstract ideas that I was not comfortable with are now more meaningful.” * Deepak Chopra, M.D. - Author of Ageless Body, Timeless Mind; The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success; The Way of the Wizard “Bridging Science and Spirit accomplishes a formidable task. This book will be a valuable research document for many years to come for those concerned with a perspective that honors both science and spirituality.” * Fred Alan Wolf, Ph.D. - Author of Taking the Quantum Leap; Parallel Universes; The Physics of the Soul “Bridging Science and Spirit correctly asks, 'How does matter originate from consciousness?' This is the fundamental question of a growing body of literature regarding the new paradigm of an idealist, consciousness-based science. Norman Friedman has made an important and thoughtful contribution to this new science.” * Amit Goswami, Ph.D. - Professor of Physics, University of Oregon. Author of The Self-Aware Universe “Few have understood both science and metaphysics well enough to remove our blinders to their underlying similarities - and universal truths. Kudos to Norman Friedman for proving to be a master bridge builder.” * Lynda Dahl - Co-founder, Seth Network International. Award-winning author of Beyond the Winning Streak; Ten Thousand Whispers; The Wizards of Consciousness; The Book of Fallacies “... a masterful job of bringing innate psychic understanding and scientific knowledge together, brilliantly showing us how all is one and one is all.” * Robert F. Butts - Husband of the late Jane Roberts, channel for Seth “Some future historian will, I feel confident, identify the 'Great Debate' of the twentieth century around the question: 'What is science going to do about consciousness?' I would surmise that Norman Friedman's book Bridging Science and Spirit will turn out to be a benchmark in that inquiry. No one can read it without gaining some clarity on their own nature.” * Willis Harman, Ph.D. - President, Institute of Noetic Sciences. Author of Higher Creativity; An Incomplete Guide to the Future

Richard Herne - Magick, Shamanism and Taoism
Delve into the Magickal Side of I Ching Divination The Book of Changes (I Ching) is more than just an oracle--it is also an incredibly powerful tool for theoretical and practical magick and meditation. With this book, the magician can learn to use the primal elemental forces of the universe as they are revealed in the ancient Hexagrams. For the first time in a study of esoteric practices, Magick, Shamanism & Taoism provides the regular Chinese word-characters for the Hexagrams as well as representations of their archaic antecedents, based on the earliest known examples of Chinese calligraphy. This opens up the potential for creating interesting and authentic variants for talismanic magick. The I Ching is comparable to the well-known Qabalistic Tree of Life. Like the Qabalah, it comprises a "cosmic map" that seeks to define categories for all the possible permutations of elements and circumstances existing in the universal cycle of creation and destruction. Those familiar with the Qabalah will find this to be a perfect complementary system of universal symbols. This book is primarily concerned with the Book of Changes and its links to Taoism, the magickal practices of the Chinese Wu, and related schools of thought. My ambition has been to open up the I Ching so that it can be approached on several levels, all of which are important aspects of the overall whole. Whereas most books on the I Ching focus on the system's oracles as a means to divination, my work builds on that important base to include the potential for magickal rites and meditations, blending traditional ideas with contemporary experimentation. In this way, it allows for a greater personal appreciation and assimilation of the primal elemental forces that underpin the Trigrams and Hexagrams. In doing so, it not only describes the basic tools appropriate for Chinese-style magick, but also explains the symbolism and esoteric theory behind their use. Parallels that I have drawn between Taoism and other worldviews such as shamanism, Ninjutsu, Shinto, Thelema, and Tantra help to broaden and explain fundamental occult concepts. Hexagram correspondences bring together interpretations of the figures with related symbols, gods, ritual instruments, and appropriate magickal workings in a way never before attempted in a work on the I Ching. -Richard Herne
Ismeretlen szerző - The Concept of Shamanism
The project of this book emerged from two sessions of the 4th International Conference of the International Society for Shamanic Research held at Chantilly, France, on 1-5 September 1997. One session was devoted to prehistory, another to “urban shamanisms and neo-shamanisms”. All the papers published in the second part of this book devoted to modernising societies were presented at the Conference. Discussions on prehistory developed subsequently, and new contributions have been included here in addition to those presented at the Conference. Let us assume that the contribution on Socrates by Pierre Hadot introduced at the end of this book helps to account for speaking of shamanism in such extreme historical situations even though we do not claim that Greek philosophy may constitute a bridge between them. We are pleased to inform the reader that another volume of Proceedings of the Conference has been published in 2000 by the Société d'Ethnologie (Nanterre). It has been jointly edited by Denise Aigle, Bénédicte Brae de la Perrière and Jean-Pierre Chaumeil, under the title La politique des esprits. Chamanismes et religions universalistes.
