Hazánk ​botanikusainak nagy többsége vett részt abban a majd nyolc évig tartó kutatómunkában, amit nagyszabású adatgyűjtés és növényfotózás egészített ki. Erre az összegyűjtött anyagra támaszkodva csaknem harminc neves botanikus mutatja be hazánk több mint 500 védett növényét. A bevezető fejezetekben a természet és a növényvilág védelmének elveit, a növényföldrajzi, taxonómiai ismereteket és a könyv használatához szükséges tudnivalókat közlik a szerzők. Az oldalpárokon négy védett faj morfológiai leírása, élőhelye, előfordulási térképe szerepel a színes fotók mellett. A latin és magyar növénynevek mutatója zárja be ezt a páratlan összefogással készült művet.

Talán nem túlzás, ha azt mondom, hogy akik csak egyszer jártak ezeken az utcákon, tereken, s látták a Duna felett felszálló párát, megcsodálták a Parlament kupoláját, a mindig nyüzsgő Váci utcát, azok újra eljönnének hozzánk. Újra leülnének a Gerbeaud teraszára, s néznék a Vörösmarty téren hullámzó tömeget, majd elsétálnának a Vigadóhoz, s jegyet váltanának az esti hangversenyre. Vagy csak sétálnának egyet a Károlyi-kert környékén, a csendes kis utcákban - egy pillanatra az elmúlt évszázadokban érezvén magukat. Majd néhány utcával arrébb ismét visszatérhetnek a mába, az új, elegáns üzletek, bankok, szállodák világába. Külön öröm számomra, hogy a méltán nagy hírű fotóművészt, Szelényi Károlyt sikerült megnyernünk a képek elkészítésére. Adolf Hitler - Harcom
A ​Mein Kampf (Harcom) Adolf Hitler nemzetiszocialista vezető egyetlen, még az életében kiadott könyve, melyet landsbergi fogsága idején kezdett el írni, miután 1923-ban az ún. sörpuccsban való részvételéért börtönbe zárták. A könyvben áttekintette addigi pályafutását és megfogalmazta világnézetét, valamint politikai programját. A mű a nácizmus ideológiai alapvetése lett. Hitler magát a könyvben nem politikusnak, hanem programadónak (Programmatiker) ábrázolta. Eszerint „a programadó feladata nem az, hogy az ügy teljesíthetőségének különböző fokait megállapítsa, hanem, hogy az ügyet mint olyan megvilágítsa: másként szólva: kevésbé kell törődnie az úttal, mint a céllal.” Továbbá: „[a programadó] jelentősége csaknem mindig csupán a jövőben mutatkozik meg, mivel ő nemritkán az, akit „világidegen” szóval illetnek. Mert ha a politikus művészete valóban megfelel a lehetséges művészetének, a programadó azokhoz tartozik, akikre áll, hogy az isteneknek csak úgy tetszenek, ha a lehetetlent követelik és akarják.” Hitler ezzel az írással egy átfogó elméletet kívánt a nép elé állítani a marxizmus ellenében. Emellett úgy kívánta bemutatni addigi pályáját, mint ami pártja és az egész nép ideális vezetőjévé teszi őt a zsidóság, mint közös ellenség elleni összefogásban. Megerősítette az NSDAP 25 pontos programjának érvényességét. Megállapította, hogy a nemzeti szocializmus egyik elődjének számító Völkisch mozgalom sikertelen maradt és ideje lejárt; ezzel szemben az NSDAP modern, céltudatos gyűjtőmozgalommá vált, amely sikerrel tömörítheti a weimari köztársaság nacionalista és antidemokratikus erőit.

Elechi Asawalam - Evaluation ​of plant products: the Control of Maize Weevil Sitophilus Zeamais Motschulsky (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)
Laboratory ​studies were conducted at the Crop Science Laboratory of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Nigeria and at the Behavioural and Chemical Ecology Department of International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology Nairobi, Kenya to determine the efficacy of some plant products and their essential oils for Sitophilus zeamais control in stored maize grains. The constituent compounds of the essential oils were identified through Gas Chromatography (GC), Gas Chromatography- Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) and GC- Co injection with the authentic standards. The proximate and chemical analyses revealed that there was no adverse effect on the basic food components and mineral elements in the grains treated with the plant products. Eucalyptol (1, 8 Cineole) had the highest percentage composition in both X. aetiopica and V. amygdalina essential oils (26.63 and 25.11%, respectively. Maize grains treated with the essential oils significantly reduced the number of progeny produced by S. zeamais. In view of the activity of these essential oils and their constituents, it is suggested that these plants are suitable for possible exploitation in insect pest control.

Ezt ​a könyvet a lelkesedés hozta létre. Kellett hozzá egyrészt néhány villamosbarát, akik azt akarták, hogy az ötvenedik évforduló ne múljék el maradandó emlék nélkül, másrészt pedig kellett hozzá mindaz az információanyag, amit azok halmoztak fel, akik ebben a fél évszázadban, vagy legalább jó részében ezen villamosok között lehettek, és minden tapasztalatot megörökítettek, hogy továbbadják az utókornak. Mi ebből igyekeztünk legjobb tudásunk szerint megalkotni ezt a kötetet, amely megpróbálja minél több aspektusból bemutatni az UV típust, megmutatni nem csak azt, hogyan született és kíséri mindennapjainkat immár ötven éve, hanem azt is, hogy hogyan működik, milyen a felépítése. A sokak számára talán túl száraz műszaki leírást is fontosnak tartottuk megörökíteni, megmutatni, hogyan is működött egy, a „régi iskola” szerint készült villamos. A mai járművekben már az elektronikáé a főszerep, míg ezekben még az ember a „központi egység”. Az UV-k eltűnésével egy jelentős korszak fog lezárulni a budapesti tömegközlekedés történetében mind városképileg, mind műszakilag. Remélem, hogy ez a könyv örömére szolgál nem csak a villamosbarátoknak, hanem mindenkinek, aki fogékony az értékes, időtálló dolgokra. Egy német villamosbarát nevezte az UV kocsikat „Budapest parádéskocsijai”-nak. Ennél szemléletesebben nehéz ábrázolni azt a viszonyt, amellyel a készítők viseltetnek a könyv tárgya irányában. Valóban, egy jármű, amely immár több, mint ötven éve hozzátartozik Budapest mindennapjaihoz, meghatározza a városképet, életünk része lett, és ezenközben tárgy létére szerethetővé vált, megérdemli, hogy életútját ezzel a kifejezéssel illessük a könyv címében.

Enzo Colonnelli - Catalogue ​of Ceutorhynchinae of the World
The ​work provides keys to all genera, lists of species and synonyms, and systematic combinations of curculionid beetles (weevels), and is authored by an eminent authority on the group. The work considers 1316 valid species, 167 genera and 11 tribes. A new tribe and 16 new genera are described. Other important features of this work include four new placements, 88 changed combinations, 45 new synonyms, eight changes of rank and eight revisions of status. Each species is provided with details of geographical distribution and habitat where known.
