It is also about life and death, happiness and sadness, and the terrible hate between two great families. Shakespeare’s beautiful tale is still as popular today as it was more than 400 years ago.

When Sebastian shows up, Olivia confuses him with the Duke's page (Olivia) and marries the astonished young man. All is cleared up eventually when Viola and Sebatian meet and recognize each other. William Shakespeare - The Two Gentlemen of Verona
An early play in five acts by William Shakespeare, performed 1594-95 and published in the First Folio of 1623. The story of the play was taken from a translation of a long Spanish prose romance entitled Diana by Jorge de Montemayor. Shakespeare added new characters--including Valentine, one of the "Two Gentlemen," whose "ideal" friendship with Proteus is so developed that the plot seems to glorify friendship over romantic love. The abrupt last scene suggests that something has gone wrong with the text, and certainly Shakespeare was never again to use such preposterous motivation for the behavior of his lovers. But it is also clear that Shakespeare was developing a new kind of high comedy that was later to find expression in The Merchant of Venice and Twelfth Night.
William Shakespeare - The Taming of the Shrew
Comedy in five acts by William Shakespeare, produced about 1593 and printed in the Folio of 1623. Considered one of Shakespeare's bawdier works, the play describes the volatile courtship between the shrewish Katharina and the canny Petruchio, who is determined to subdue Katharina's legendary temper and win her dowry. The main story is offered as a play within a play; the frame story consists of an initial two-scene "induction": a lord offers the love story as an entertainment for tinker Christopher Sly, recovering from a drunken binge at an alehouse. Although Katharina repeatedly insults Petruchio, he woos, wins, and tames her by insisting that she is actually the soul of gentleness and patience. After their marriage, he makes her forgo food, sleep, and fancy clothing, and he outdoes her mean tongue by abusing the servants. In the final scene, Petruchio wins a bet that his wife is the most obedient after Katharina gives a speech extolling the virtues of wifely subservience.

William Shakespeare - Hamlet, Prince of Denmark / Hamlet, dán királyfi
A Hamlet (1601), talán legismertebb, legtöbbet játszott műve Shakespeare-nek. Vívódó, töprengő alkotás a dráma, miként a főszereplő maga. Hamlet késleltetett bosszúját hosszas önmarcangoló kérdéselvetések, bizonyságkéresésék előzik meg. Végül igazságot szolgáltat, de ő is belepusztul. Tűrni vagy ellenszegülni? A reneszánsz ember dilemmája örökérvényű!

Rosemary Border - Ghost Stories (Oxford Bookworms)
After dinner we turned the lights out and played 'hide-and-seek'. In the dark, I touched a hand, a very cold hand. Now, because of the game, I had to hide in the dark with . . . with this cold person - not speaking, not knowing who it was. Slowly the others found us, hid with us, until we were all there - all thirteen. Thirteen? But there were only twelve people in the house! We touched each other in the dark, counting. Thirteen. Quickly, nervously, I lit a match to see . . .

William Shakepeare - Macbeth
The Tragedy of Macbeth (commonly called Macbeth) is a play by William Shakespeare about a regicide and its aftermath. It is Shakespeare's shortest tragedy and is believed to have been written sometime between 1603 and 1607.
Shakespeare's sources for the tragedy are the accounts of King Macbeth of Scotland, Macduff, and Duncan in Holinshed's Chronicles (1587), a history of England, Scotland and Ireland familiar to Shakespeare and his contemporaries. However, the story of Macbeth as told by Shakespeare bears no relation to real events in Scottish history as Macbeth was an admired and able monarch
